We are recognised as a market leader in research and consultancy about social aspects of planning, social policy and transport.  We place particular emphasis on the understanding of attitudes and perceptions which can be as influential on behaviour as 'objective reality'.

We have used this approach to help develop policy in areas as diverse as health, childcare, road safety, crime and housing policy. We also carry out socio-economic analysis, audits and policy evaluation.

We offer quantitative and qualitative skills in market and social research including well-tried methods such as focus groups and surveys.  However, we are particularly known for our pioneering new forms of inclusive consultation which encourage people to make civic choices as citizens rather than as individual consumers.

We are experienced in the most appropriate ways of increasing the participation of minority groups and the socially excluded.

We also work with organisations to develop equality strategies.  Sometimes we develop community capacity by employing and training local people to work with us.

NEWS

The public do support humps!

A recent MORI survey showed that the public support both traffic calming in general (74% support) as well as specific features including humps (54%).  This survey is part of a study carried out on behalf of the County Surveyors Society (CSS).  The current stage is to research case studies of traffic calming all over UK with a view to understanding more about public attitudes.  To date eleven local authorities are benefiting from this research which is subsidised by the CSS.

For further information about the MORI results and the ongoing research contact us.
